I’ve been exploring the Tatra 805 and find that Wikipedia isn’t as helpful as I hoped because it only discusses the subject in various varieties of Slav and German. So picking our way through Wiki auf deutsch we find that the 805 had 4wd, a luftgekühlter V8-Benzinmotor (or even an aircooled petrol V8) with just 75 hp from its 2.5 litres, a four speed crash gearbox with high/low range and a differential lock.
You had a choice of an open or closed Fahrerhaus - so you could have a convertible. Wouldn’t that be wonderful?
Have the V8 showing how each bank is luftgekühled. Also three gearlevers (main, range, 4wd).
Also, have a convertible.

The Steyr Haflinger is also luftgekühlt, and is almost a fore-aft mirror image of all that.

Well, there is actually a connection to Tatra here. I have read that the Haflinger was designed by Erich Ledwinka—the son of famed Tatra engineer Hans Ledwinka.

Fascinating. I did not know that.
